i see a deadly curve ahead

and i accelerate
when law requires a lower speed
i test the hand of fate
.
instead of having common sense
i double up the stakes
it seems i always hit the gas
when i should hit the brakes
.
when things ahead are blind as hell
i tread where angels fear
when someone tells me i'm amok
i'm certain not to hear
.
when i see "bridge out" signs ahead
i drive right into lakes
it seems i always hit the gas
when i should hit the brakes
.
i'm walking under ladders
and i'm seeking inky cats
instead of wearing gloves of kid
i'm wielding baseball bats
.
mistrusting authenticity
i latch right onto fakes
it seems i always hit the gas
when i should hit the brakes
.
i swerve across the center line
and take it to the edge
i cannot ever hug the wall
but make love to the ledge
.
instead of minimizing risks
i magnify mistakes
it seems i always hit the gas
when i should hit the brakes
