longing

at once turned on

but now turned in
and forced to walk the walls within
the pages turned
the Xs scrawled
the sentence was two words i drawled
the first was "I"
the second, "do"
now bars are raised to block my view
climbing in ?
like 1-2-3
climbing out ?
a mystery
this room is like
a coffin box
with one way doors and tricky locks
time is ticking
no alarm
melody that's lost its charm
now i seek
some brighter days
for all is dark inside this maze
take my life
take my name
every second feels the same
there's the lock
where's the key ?
must there be death to be set free ?

Wilbur

Shadowed, haunting, darker hued - the same voice, deeper timbre. Still, music. A fugue. Blessings, Connie
