its not enough

it never was
i thought you'd change
one never does
we once composed
a loving song
decomposition
came along
its been reduced
to angry buzz
its not enough
it never was

its not enough
my joy's been killed
my beating heart
is all but stilled
the play is wrapped
the curtain falls
the audience
has left the halls
the empty seats
will not be filled
its not enough
my joy's been killed

its not enough
the sky is black
the warming sun's
not coming back
i walk the night
no stars adorn
i know i'll never
see the morn
the dawn i seek
will never crack
its not enough
the sky is black

its not enough
let's call it quits
i'm searching for
a part that fits
we'll never solve
our mystery
sometimes there simply
is no key
no patching up
what's blown to bits
its not enough
let's call its quits
