an orchestra that's tuning up

a chattering of birds
a string of bulbs on christmas trees
of which you catch just thirds

unfit, the conversation
tis a creature, quite uncouth
no sense to fill the air with words
let silence speak the truth

a tapestry unraveling
a scroll that's been unfurled
expecting a new ice age
to be blanketing the world

let your throat be on vacation
let your tongue begin a nap
for language only chills the bones
let silence be our wrap

the steep wall of a canyon
rapid rivers full of stones
a speech requiring fleshing
for its only skin and bones

a forest overgrowing
till the shadows sadly loom
these echos can reverberate
let silence fill the room
