quietly i sit here in this restless time and space
and think about the winding roads that led me to this place
did i use my wisdom ?
did i learn from my mistakes ?
was i looking somewhere else and maybe missed some lucky breaks ?
like the blanketing of warm earth that protects its fragile seeds
my heart needs...
to go home
its time for contemplation as to what the future holds
start looking for a love that always warms and never scolds
can i climb that mountain ?
will i see the other side ?
can i cross that mighty river with its currents deep and wide ?
like the fledglings in their nests as their sweet mother preens and feeds
my heart needs...
to go home
its time to find the answers to the questions that i ask
i must dig to find the courage for this necessary task
will my wings unloosen ?
will i burst from my cocoon ?
will i fly into the new dawn of a day that's coming soon ?
like the friend that takes you by the hand and through dark forests, leads
my heart needs...
to go home
