my life...is a mystery
i wish...it was history
my pain...is the one thing i own
my home... is just the flesh on my bones
my bones

my life...is a dot to dot
my faith...has lost its parking spot
my tears...are a secret well kept
they leave...a shadow where i have slept
i've slept

my life...is a crystal ball
painted black...so you can't see at all
i try...to hold it up to the light
i see...my future's dark as the night
the night

my life...is a carousel
it doesn't spin...it just goes straight to hell
i squirm...but i cannot break loose
i pray...that someone turns off the juice
the juice

my life....is a question mark
i hide my eyes...i keep my glasses dark
you've got to get under the skin
to find...the heart that's beating within
within

my life...is an endless maze
where i have spent...twelve thousand days
one day...when i can take it no more
then death...is gonna show me the door
the door
