blanking out

it used to be so easy

putting words out on parade
the crowd applauding wildly
at the sentences i made
i could do it with a blindfold
so i impishly had joked
but now it seems like my poetic license is revoked

i used to cause great laughter
or the breaking of a heart
a master of emotion
and creator of fine art
but i lost all rhyme and reason
use of language cruelly choked
and now it seems like my poetic license is revoked

if poetry's graffiti
i'm just vandalizing now
i've a language dead as latin
it just doesn't click somehow
i was cocky as a rooster
are the gods of rhyme provoked ?
for now it seems like my poetic license is revoked

the ink i used creating
freely flowed just like my blood
thought pulitzer would be my prize
but now my name is mud
i'm sporting ruffled feathers
cause my ego is not stroked
cause now it seems like my poetic license is revoked

poetry's like cigarettes
on fire, the passions fumed
there's nothing left but ashes
when the contents are consumed
so could it be my lucky strike
has been completely smoked ?
for now it seems like my poetic license is revoked

Don't you dare lose your license! What would your fans do with all their time? :)

I don't believe it for one moment the above is the proof against your claim.

Of course you could just be dinging our bells. Would put that passed you

Go on post another one

If that's evidence of revoked poetic license, I'm signing up for one right here and now. But it made me sad. Don't ever let your license lapse. Not while I'm still around to read and enjoy. I'll haunt your Muse.
All kinds of regards, Connie
