i've found a brand new neighborhood
its called the writer's block
and when i'm out of fresh ideas
its where i take a walk

when tripping, its a stumbling block
a thing no one enjoys
but sometime's its a wooden block
with letters used for toys

for poems that never get on track
i use a starting block
a sun block's best for late at night
when all my doors, i lock

when writing must accelerate
i use an engine block
i'm hope i'm not exhausted
when my pistons start to knock

and when i have a deadline near
while staring at the clock
i tickle my poor mind
until i'm tackling this block

a fresher slice of verse i need ?
i go and check my stock
and if it ends up like this poem
well, that's a butcher's block
