at last

when a guitar that was played with love
has no semblance of a chord
when a guitar that once roared with life
is a simple slab of board
.
then that guitar that was left unplayed
feels a sound come from its strings
then the bird that had been mute so long
finds her voice and starts to sing
.
when a bell that used to chime all day
falls as silent as a stone
when a bell that used to ring with glee
has no shadow of a tone
.
then a bell whose chime was swept away
found another way to ring
then the bird that had been mute so long
finds her voice and starts to sing
.
when a flower brighter than the sun
turns a sullen hue of gray
when a flower with the scent of bliss
has its essence stripped away
.
then a flower underneath the snow
felt the first warmth of the spring
then the bird who had been mute so long
finds her voice and starts to sing
