musically challenged

i craved to learn an instrument

and join up in a band
but i was so darn spastic
when it came to my left hand
my right side's fairly nimble
and it does what i command
but no coordination
when it came to my left hand
the saxophone is out for me
likewise, the baby grand
barely play the radio
when it came to my left hand
my wife suggested trumpet
for you need to understand
i'd only need support it
not that tough for my left hand
and so i tried the trumpet
as my wife had wisely planned
i held it up to blow it
not that tough for my left hand
but it was problematic
when i tried to let it rip
the top part of my mouth worked fine
not so, my bottom lip

This made me chuckle. I took many instrument technique classes in university and had to learn each of the wind instruments. When starting to learn the brass instruments my lips got so numb I could barely speak after practice. It kinda feels like a protest by both the lips. Anyway, this reminded me of that era of my life. Thanks for the fond memory flood.

This is really funny. If it's not one thing going wrong, its another. Very clever poem Mr. Phish :)
