this dream was full of calumets

of troughs and tubes a-twine
i found that i had meerschaums
and viaducts in mind

along these raging vessels
was a man who played a flute
by the swift canals of water
on a corn cob, i did toot

and i espied conveyors
there were spouts and hose and vents
and hints of peaceful wisps
that emanated from some tents

a vast array of plumbing
sewer lines and hookahs, seen
through this dream i smoked and tunneled
yet i don't know what it means
