The sun rises, early morning, in the sky above us,

Still cold, breathe in,I feel so alive..

Then a brush of warmth comes in,

And suddenly I feel unsafe,

I open my eyes to the world around me,

Uncertain to what I'll find,

I step out the door and walk out to the street,

Only fear mongrels are afraid of being hit by a passing bus,

Without hesitation, one foot on the road,

I walk seven miles, not knowing my destination,

What love I have that makes me feel my soul?

Only the one, of my closest friend,

He who walks beside me down this long abandoned road,

For his love is in the cold air, that makes me feel alive.
