Eighteen year old Chance Arquette is the youngest military policeman in the Chromatic Order. When he is assigned to take on a secret mission of infiltration, he feels like his efforts have finally been recognised, and they have – recognised by the wrong people.

In a strangely familiar world, time stopped over three centuries ago. No one knows what year it is – they only know the place; post-war Industrazia. The streets are dark and musky and the people are quiet and suspicious. This is no ordinary Industrazia – this is Industrazia under the control of the Monochrome Society. The crime rate has been halved with the introduction of the Chromatic Order; a group of military policemen. Chance’s older brother is the head of the Order and answers only to Count von Bhizej. That’s why, when Chance is summoned by the Count directly, he’s a little unsure of the situation.

Bhizej wants him to “restore the flow of time. Forward the progression of technology, begin the revolution that Industrazia needs. Get there before any other city does. Put us back on the map and make them fear us again.” He also adds that, “if you force time to move again, it will heal your wounds – you can put that memory to rest.”

Welcome to the steampunk world of Industrazia, where deception and mind-games flourish and whores and killers roam the streets. Will the young soldier have what it takes to kill a king upon his throne, or will the pressure force him to his knees? Read Chapter
