Actually is a really personal poem and It meant a lot to me. I found it simple and great to compare a relationship that is no longer to the painting of a 5 year old.

I am a painting,
Painted long ago
When your brother was only 5 years old
Now I'm placed somewhere unknown

But at the time
When you gazed upon me
You weren't sure
What I was supposed to be

You looked down at the canvas
of globs of paint
You said you thought I was beautiful
But then threw me away.

Many of us can relate to this poem in the sense that we can all remember a piece of art that we made when we were children, but that we've since gotten ridden of or misplaced.
In a way it's quite sad because it echos the notion that we've lost that sense of innocence we used to possess.
