I watch as it snows
out of my window
I watch as it falls
onto the ground below

I imagine
every little flake
dancing to my music
ridding themselves of any ache

But their pace is just to fast
for this melancholy song
They dance in the wind, so happily
as I wish to dance along.

And though I may be cold out there
the heart in my chest already is
for I will never kiss another
the way I kissed his lips

Maybe I’ll land in the hand of a small child
and dissolve into their skin
The way I seemed to dissolve when I kissed his lips
Love should be a sin

because it hurts, love hurts
I can’t make it any more clear
The chirps of birds tells us what love is
but I can’t comprehend what I hear

So until I’m a bird and until I can chirp
I’ll never dance along
I’ll watch the snow as it flows
to this melancholy song
