Walk away, farther from me
Let's hope you don't backtrack again
Stumbling down your alleyway
Along your path of broken glass, waiting for the day to end
The sun has yet to set
Your mind yet to be free
Bound by your chains of everybody else
It's always them, not me
Say goodbye, don't keep in touch
Let go of our little secrets
What we have, is not enough
To carry on this way
And all this time, as if a time-bomb
You've been anticipating our ending
Guided by the moonlight
We dance only to the sounds of what could have been
It never got that far
Loneliness can now be considered a friend
In a life that's filled with mere "dear diary's"
The line between then and now has begun to blur
Your insensitivity shall play catalyst
In our painful game
Dare I play along?
Lost in our fragile world of heightened expectancies
You make me numb
A butterfly, you soar so high abouve me
I chase in yearning, in wanting
This strange need
You are not so free
Reaching out, in all my deprivation
The butterfly sits upon my outstretched hand
And flies away so eagerly onto different destinations
I chase on, without a sense of direction
Over the edge
