What will it be like on the other side?
Will it just be all darkness, a vacuum, a void?
No one to confide in, to share all my woes
No place to escape to, where the pain grows and grows?
Will I be truly alone in that forsaken place?
No shoulder to cry on, not one friendly face?
A desolate voice crying all through the night
Nowhere to escape to, no chance to take flight.
Is this truly all that there’s going to be?
A hopeless existence just waiting for me
An endless procession of isolation and pain
No chance of remission, no absolution to gain
It’s time for acceptance and of facing my fate
Of acknowledging destiny and awaitng the date
Maybe I’m wrong in my cynical mood
Married life may even be good!
