Under this tree I sit.
Reflecting upon past thoughts.
As if there was a mirror,
Imposing upon my unconscious being.
Reflecting upon the great beauty,
That is exalted before my soul.
A beauty that could only radiate,
The fullness of life.
Yet the flowers of life’s usefulness,
Seem to drop of their stalks
And shrivel up and die.
Their years spent by vanity.
Causing the wasting the seeds of sanity.
Abused, tormented by previous occupants,
Of the higher order of mere mortals.
The budding segments fuse together,
In a communal sense of longing.
A longing for the end to all things that pollute
And destroy the fundamental right to live,
In peace and harmony.
Reflecting the shrouded, barred fields that are
Greener on the other side of the fence.
Barred as not to allow the infant mortals to mature.
Their inability to be nourished
In the land of milk and honey,
Causing them to die a lonely death.
Reflection causes concern…..
Reflection causes action…….
Yet we mere mortals seem to lie stagnant,
In the tides of ensuing change.
We hang the balance of life and justice,
Out on a limb that is about to break.
The mirror lay shattered, spread over time.
Broken by the present, and unforeseeable future.

Reflections give a distorted image of reality.
