How I identify with thee
Solemn, sturdy, solitary
Why do people fear thee and me
Strong, soft, secluded
Across forests and frozen plains
You roam
Across the iron and concrete jungle
I drift
Everything against you
Survival a must
Fleeing from your enemies
Who seek to destroy you
Majestic, mature, thoughtful
You are free yet caged
By your needs and desires
As am I
Peace, a dream, a hope
Love, a need, a distant possibility
Alone, always alone
Pain always present, persistent
I join thee
Doomed to isolation
Forever to survive
How can we escape from here
The bear and I
The one and the same
Hunted forever by evil
Shelter is only found in isolation

The Bear and I….
