Shane was a pale, skinny curly haired nerd who was notoriously shy and quiet. Sarah was a short 5'1 white as a ghost redhead lacrosse player. Shane and Sarah had been close friends for a while, but now they behaved more like a couple. They hadn't made that official amongst themselves. However, all their friends and family members thought of them as a couple. In some way, Sarah and Shane thought that as well, but it wasn't "official official." Currently, they were away for their summer trip at Halliday Bay, a gorgeous Massachusetts beach town. They were staying in separate condos with their respective families. Shane, his parents and older brother were together in one, while across the street, Sarah, her parents and two younger sisters were in a condo. Shane was always coming over to see Sarah. He had fallen hard in love with her, and she felt the same, but neither had said it. They both knew though how the other felt.

Tonight, Shane and Sarah would go out together. The tourist strip where they were staying was extremely crowded. It was populated with numerous bars, resturants, mini golf courses, hotels, novelty stores that sold shit that wouldn't last a week, and the usual suspects of chain resturants such as Macdonalds and KFC. Shane dressed up well in a black/orange polo shirt and shorts. He tried to make his unruly curly hair settle down, but it simply would not do as he wanted. Soon he would throw on his black toe flip flops and make his way over to Sarah. Shane was terrified, nervous of what was to come, hoping he would impress Sarah on their date. Meanwhile, Sarah was dressed up. She wore a gorgeous yellow summer dress, and had her red hair done up in pigtails. She was excited, getting to go out with Shane. She was hopeful he felt the same about her, wanting to be together. Sarah was also nervous, hoping she'd impress Shane. He was a sweetheart and she adored his kind nature. Soon, Shane would arrive, knocking and waiting for her. She'd nervously come answer. "Hey" he smiled happily. "Hey Shane" Sarah said back, stepping outside. "Ready to go?" he asked. "Yeah" Sarah fiddled a bit with the small clutch bag over her shoulder.

Shane and Sarah left, taking the elevator down to the ground floor. They were going to mini golf, as well as have ice cream that night. They started with mini golf at a pirate themed course. It was a 10 minute walk. Halliday Bay was a beautiful place, during the day but also at night. The city lights were simply gorgeous. Shane and Sarah walked through crowds of people and eventually reached the mini golf course. Shane paid for it, Sarah did offer but Shane wanted to. He was always generous to her, and Sarah appreciated it. She'd find a way to pay him back, it was important to her to do that. After paying, they'd head out on the course. Naturally it was crowded, it was summer time at Halliday Bay, a very crowded and busy time. It would take them 2 hours to get through their round of mini golf. Shane and Sarah both were terrible at it, both rarely taking less than 5 shots on a hole.Shane being his funny man self, made references to 'Happy Gilmore', his favorite movie. He always was able to make Sarah laugh without trying.

After they were finally done mini golfing, they walked to "Bobby's", a resturant and "ice cream parlor" as Shane called it. They were served by European migrant workers, most places in Halliday Bay were staffed entirely by Europeans. As they sat, Shane held Sarah's hand. She noticed and smiled, letting him. They shared a gigantic ice cream sundae. The longer they were out together, the more Sarah's feelings for Shane grew. After they were done, Sarah paid this time after insisting. Shane tried to resist but relented and let her pay. After that, they walked back to Sarah's condo. Her family was still out, her parents doing things with the young ones. This gave Shane and Sarah time alone together. They cuddled on the couch together. They were both a bit awkward, treading lightly because they both didn't want to scare the other off. Finally, after over an hour of awkward half cuddling while watching "River Monsters" reruns, Shane went full force and pulled Sarah close and cuddled her tightly. Sarah was happy and smiled, gladly letting Shane cuddle her. They would spend the next couple hours cuddling and holding hands while watching "River Monsters". It was always on during the summer in Halliday Bay, along with a few others.

At 9pm, Sarah's family returned. Shane decided to leave. He and Sarah went to the front door and went outside. They had their awkward small talk, until Shane leaned in and kissed her. Sarah gladly kissed him back and pressed her body to his. After they were done, Shane pressed his forehead to hers gently for a bit. Instead of leaving, Sarah convinced him to stay over. Shane agreed to stay. He and Sarah were given their alone time, while Sarah's parents kept her younger siblings occupied. Sarah left and changed into a hoodie and shorts and then returned to Shane. They cuddled on the couch, watching "River Monsters", the plastic surgery show "Botched" and the cooking competition "Chopped". They would fall asleep on the couch cuddling together.

In the morning, Shane and Sarah awoke early at 9am. The sun was bright, shining its oppressive rays right down on them. Shane awoke first, followed by Sarah a few minutes later. Once she woke up he kissed her forehead. She smiled and woke up quickly. They both didn't want to get up, they were toasty warm cuddled up with each other. Shane rubbed his feet on Sarah's as they cuddled. Soon they would turn the tv on, watching early morning reruns of "Dog the Bounty Hunter" on mute with the irritating captions on the bottom of the screen that were always 5 sentences behind what was actually being said. This is how Sarah and Shane both wanted it to be. They wanted every day to feel like this, happy, warm, loving and connected. It's how they felt now, and it's how they felt most the time when they were together. It was truly the best feeling in the world for the both of them.
