Forever in Peace

In a fragile world How often do thoughts turn to the weak.

Go push your trolley

Down the grocery aisle

As they drag their cart

For the bodies that pile

Go feed the ducks

With yesterdays bread

As they look for their children

Amongst the dead

Go take your stroll

And picnic in the park

As they cower in their houses

And pray for the dark

Go children to school

You have much to learn

As they cling on to hope

While their buildings burn

Go tuck your children into bed

Warm as they sleep safe and sound

As their children now, sleep forever in peace

A grave fresh dug in the ground

I like this a lot but on the last stanza did you mean to say "Go tuck your children into bed".
Great job!

Love Always,

I think this was overall a good poem, but I don't agree with you. Everyone always comes to the U.S. if they have problems, but when we need help nobody else steps up. It's frustrating to me. I donate what I can, but my country has issues, too. I know that they have problems, but things here in the U.S. need fixing, also. In the meanwhile, you're a gifted writer. Thanks for sharing.

Hiya, I didn't mean to offend any one. I know the U.S is having its problems. I'm from the U.K and have someone close to me in Basra doing his second tour of duty there right now. The U.K has stepped up to U.S. May be if we all spent a little time thinking of others we wouldn't have such a mad world. It's sad that there is so much suffering in the world.
I wish you and your country well.
p.s. Sorry meant to also say thank you for reading it.

Nova chan

that was great
i like the way the parallels are written
we can see that while we might be safe and well fed not everyone has the same chance
nicely written
