I wrote this early in the morning on a day when the world seemed to be as groggy as I was.

I don't own the picture.

It's too early for anything. Even the weather agrees with me. The rain falling from the blue-gray sky whispers, "Go inside. Go back to sleep." The sun would normally be shining brightly in the sky, but today it has chosen to stay tucked behind the clouds, leaving the rest of the world darker and less awake than it should be at this hour. The puddles on the ground that splash whenever someone steps in them say, "Go inside. You shouldn't be out here yet." The wind blows the smell of early morning rain against people's backs, pushing them along with a sigh of, "Go inside. The world isn't ready for you yet." The few black birds soaring through the air cry, "Just a little longer. Stay inside just a little longer."
