Have you ever been whipped
by a bamboo stick
from the beautiful isle of Hawaii?
Did the sting of green reed
across your young knees
make you sway in the warm ocean breeze?
Though the wrongs weren't your fault
did the water's fresh salt mix
with tears that flowed from you eye?
Today the tide's changed reflections,
rearranged waves from your past break
on far distant shores?
I am large and powerful
I could outrun you in a heart beat
I am a flight animal by nature;
cautious and alert
Yet I choose to trust you
Please don't hurt me now
We have a future please
don't take it away from us
We went as high as you wanted
us too, we also went as far,
one day we couldn't do it,
so you sent us to slaughter,
just because that one day
we couldn't do it, doesn't mean
we couldn't have done it next time
Could you eat us?
So people do
That race I wasn'tthe one
out in front. So you tossed
me away to a meat factory
It was just one race
You didn't even let me try to win again
Don't let this story be your
Do good save us
We are a girl's best friend
Can you imagine waking up tomorrow
and not having a best friend?
I didn't think so
I may not have won a ribbon in the show ring
but you didn't kill me
You said when I ran, it was like I was running on air;
one day I was lame So I couldn't, your mom wanted to sell
me to slaughter, but you didn't
Why can' everyone be like you.
Stop useless horse slaughter now.
