A poem about facing the hardships of life using a metaphor with humans as drops of water in a wave.

Those little ripples on the lake beach-
Look as they vainly reach
And strive towards the shore,
Parts of grand waves no more.

Once water in ocean waves
Surging over sailors' graves;
A guide for intrepid explorers
That could take them to unimagined horrors.

The water had no choice where it went,
The whims of nature had it sent.
Forced to leave the timeless tides
It is shamed, but it never hides.

Mimick the water when living your life
For you too may be taken by strife
And brought to places less grand
But do what you must, and ripple to land.
