This is my testament to all the wrong doing in the world- fused with the innocence of childhood.
As always comments welcome.

Nursery Crimes

I spy, with my little eye,
Something beginning with P,
Poisonous gases filling the air,
Slowly deleting you and me.

I spy, with my little eye,
Something beginning with L,
Life threatening landmines buried,
Lying dormant, waiting to kill.

I spy, with my little eye,
Something beginning with R,
Ricocheting bullets ending lives,
Ridiculous and needless wars.

I spy, with my little eye,
A world that has seen better days,
Rapings and murders, pain unbound,
You can’t see the light through the haze.

But I spy with my little eye,
Something beginning with C,
Children at play in fields of green,
Symbols of hope we all need.

If you spy with your little eye,
Something you feel is not right,
Express your feelings, show you care,
Our world is losing this fight.

Then all the kings horses and all the kings men,
Can live without fear, in harmony again.
