Andrew is an exceptionally boring man. Everyday Andrew wakes up at the same time, eats the same breakfast, takes the same route to work. Today was no different. At 6:07 am Andrew woke up and started getting ready for work. He made himself his daily breakfast, two eggs a piece of toast. He left at exactly 6:55 to head to work. Leaving his third story apartment he walks down the 36 steps and heads to his bus stop. He walks a half block then turns to walk down the same alley he always walks down.

Today was different though. Andrew's steady gait through the alley was interrupted by the untied shoe lace of his plain black dress shoes. As Andrew stooped down to tie his  shoe a bright white piece of paper catches his eyes. He slowly reaches for the piece of paper that is just slightly out of reach.

Andrew lets out a great sigh suddenly realizing what a boring life he leads. "Who gets excited about a blank white peace of paper?" He says suddenly dejected by his existence. At that moment a stiff breeze flows through the alley sweeping the piece of paper up into the air. With a sense of zeal he had never felt before Andrew decides he will retrieve that piece of paper wherever it should travel. He quickly ties his shoe and hurriedly stands up chasing the piece of paper that was once so closely within his reach.

As Andrew reaches the end of the alley he looks up into the grey skies to see if he can catch a glimpse of the paper that has thoroughly captivated him. Out of the corner of his eye Andrew sees the paper and takes off to chase it. As Andrew runs down the street he catches sight of things he had never even noticed before. The older couple saying there affectionate goodbyes for the day. The lady gleefully playing tug of war with her dog in the park. Then Andrew sees something so magnificent he would never see the world the same again. As the paper started to fall from the sky he looked into the horizon and saw the most beautiful sunrise he had ever seen. The brightest oranges, blues and pinks covered the entire skyline. Andrew had no choice but to smile. In that moment Andrew felt happy for the first time he can remember since he was a child!

Focusing his attention back to the piece of paper he realizes that it has flown further away once more. Andrew steps into the park and chases the piece of paper that is now just a few steps in front of him. He reaches as high as he can and raises his eyes to gaze at his prize as he takes the last few steps toward the paper. Suddenly he finds himself falling!

As he in gracefully picks himself up he realizes the reason he fell was because he ran into a woman standing there. "I..i..I'm so sorry!" He stutters. As he helps up the woman he just knocked over he is struck by just how pretty she is.

As she stands up she turns to him, sweeping the hair from in front of her face she smiles and gently says, "Its ok. You seem to be in quite a rush, are you late for work?"

Andrew now embarrassed at the reason he was distracted sheepishly replies "Uhm not quite."

Seeing his hesitation she quizzically asks "Why are you in such a haste then?" Andrew proceeds to explain the turn of events up to this point. As he is telling the story the woman attentively listens. As he finishes she asks him, "Where is the paper now?"  Turning around he points just a few hundred feet from where they now stand to the piece of paper peacefully placed on the ground.

The woman slowly starts walking towards it and Andrews has no choice but to follow. As they walk he slowly and nervously says "I'm sorry but I didn't get your name. What is your name?"

"Sophie" she quickly replied. "And your name is?"

"My name is Andrew" he says as a slight smile creeps across his face. Silently they continue their walk closer and closer to the paper. Andrew is standing right over it now. He never thought one piece of paper could have such a profound impact on him. As he reaches down for the paper he knows he will never be the same person again. He stops and looks up at Sophie. She looks at him and smiles.

"It's time for the adventure to end I guess" she said.

He smiles "I'm not ready for this adventure to end. Will you go get a cup of coffee with me?" He asked her.

Taken aback she says "What about the piece of paper?"

"There will be plenty of time to get it" He says with a new confidence and outlook on life. He grabsSophie's hand and starts walking away. Walking away from the piece of paper that meant a new life for him. A strong wind hits Andrew and Sophie in the face causing Andrew to turn his head. As he turns his head he sees behind him the paper picked up and carried into the bright blue sky above. He smiles knowing his adventure will continue forever.
