What do you feel when you're so upset,

That your emotions just shut off?

What do you feel when you've lost something dear,

Making you lose your senses?

Numb.

It is the only feeling I have left.

My other emotions and feelings were taken away.

So what do you have left to feel,

When there isn't anything left?

When you can't feel anything,

The only thing you can feel is numb.

Why do I act this way, you ask?

So cold to the others around me?

Because I can't stand the way they all look at me.

A waist of their time,

Just something in the way.

I bump in the road,

That they plan to flatten out.

My heart is frozen,

With nothing left to feel...but numb.

The fire has been put out,

And the small flame left over is dying.

The cold wind continued to blow,

But no one will try to save the flame.

Because they think that they will get burned.

That if they make the flame stronger,

It will turn on them and burn them.

But really all it wants to do is keep them warm.

But they don't believe it.

And so they are letting the flame die out.

And so as the cold settles in,

All that's left to feel is numb.

That's the only feeling left.

I've tried everything to rescue the flame,

But it's too hard to reach.

They are holding me back,

Keeping me from it.

I know I'm the only one that could save it.

But no, they won't let me near it.

It had been the only thing keeping us warm,

But they were all too afriad to get burned.

And so they just sit back and watch,

As the last source of light,

The last source of warmth,

Dies...
