JUST

ONE OF THOSE DAYS…….

Society is struck with illness, a plague that was meant to come, a Armageddon one might say, but. . . Id like to call it fate, if I had one word to sum it up. Life felt like it was no longer lustful, caring its cheery tone which the chipping bird on the freshly rained on tree branch sang- instead of the blissful feeling, this eternal happiness which life was suppose to give me and everyone else. . . .

We were tricked, and tricked by the illusion of a never ending rainbow of smiles and laughter.

In reality, it was nothing but chains and shackles. Masks and needles: Hell, on earth.

+ ?????? +

A small sigh escaped the light pale lips, the breathe leaving caused the glass in front to fog ever so lightly, causing a small drawing pad which tempted the being before he had shifted, his shoulder rotating as he turned himself around and leaned his back against the window having been tempted to doodle in the spot where his breath had lingered.

Th-This- This Nightmarepeople are calling it isnt A NIGHTMARE, its real, its really happening and people need to get with it and-”

The small clicking noise of a laptop closing nearly echoed in the eerie silence of the room, a slender finger lingering on top of the device for a few more seconds as the sounds of the power completely shutting off calmed his nerves, the sounds of the bumbling idiot on the laptop no longer being heard. Once again a sigh escaped his lips, but only this time it wasnt because it was a new morning and he was waking, no, it was because he was tired of this nightmare continuing, the internet videos raced around like wild fire with the information that was going on in his town, his home town he had grown up in and loved dearly: lurid. That was a popular word that was used for his town now, instead of Sallen Vall.

Murmuring to himself he walked across the small tiny apartment room, going from living room to kitchen within a few steps and picked up a black cell phone, his slightly lengthened nails hitting several buttons before the phone was lifted to his head where the animalistic like ear had lowered itself, pressing the chilling metal against it causing a slight shiver but with the shiver there was no withdraw.

Nate here The voice answered on the other line of the phone, a small line pressing against the males lips hearing such a tone….

How can you sound so cheery? He questioned as the opposite ear which wasnt pinned to the phone perked in confusion as he trailed out of the kitchen area and into the living room which could also be labelled his bedroom: sheets lingered on the couch and a plate was on the coffee table from the night before. “Well soorrrry, Im not going to be miserable like every other quality in this section of town, what crawled up your arse? With his tone and choice of words the only thing he could do really was fall onto the couch with a huff, back hitting the cushioned backing and head throwing back as a long sigh was blown into the phone “This isnt exactly the time to be skipping down the road now, is it Nate? odd shaded eyes looked at the window where he had once been leaning against, watching as rain pattered against it heavily, aggressively.

Yaknow what Dyn? If you wana be all down and sob, you can do it on your own time. Im here for you and all, but this- this nightmare everyone is saying is going around, its just another thing were going to get over. Its nothing serious. Jesus man, well have a better time getting over this if everyone wasnt so obsessed A grunt came from the other side of the phone, but it wasnt even a second before the pale white lips could mutter a single letter and the line went dead - a friend of many mask; Dyn had thought such statement about his friend several times in their friendship of many years. The longest holding and yet he felt like he knew his neighbor better who had moved in last month. Whywhhhhyyyyy??? he grumbled to himself, ears raising as phone was put onto the ignored plate with left over crumbs.

With little care he had slouched over until his shoulder had landed on the couchs cushion and cheek was against it as well, one eye shut as the other bright dodger blue like crystal gazed across the room, the very small room to the bland wall he had been meaning to paint for- well, as long as he could remember. Sleep was the only thing this being could think about right now, the desire to go outside had died a long time ago, as well as the pleasure to speak with people outside of his apartment building he had been residing in for countless years. With seconds rolling onto minutes the crystal shaded eye vanished under the white closing lid and it almost felt like slumber was going to take him onto one of those long journeys he wished could happen oh so more often.

BANG~

SUUUUUUGGAARRR!!” The beast like roar came from the front of his apartment with the front door nearly smashed in, almost indented into the wall which it normally lightly hit against when you opened it fully. Dyn, who had been almost asleep bounced on the flat cream like couch, snow white ears and at one point, a very smooth and lengthy feline resembling tail had been curled up by his backside was how fluffed, both, as a fire like stone and a crystal eye stared at the front of his home, preparing for a battle of sorts- adrenaline instantly beginning to run as claws dug into the couch.

I need some sugaaaarrrr” The once beastly voice that had bashed in through the door belonged to his neighbor, which was now a small meek one. “… I swear to you… One day… Im going to have a heart attack…” with words not very exaggerated his widened eyes looked at his neighbor, standing nothing but five feet with tall canine like ears perked on top of her cherry red hair, a rather bashful expression on her face as she played innocent to bursting into the apartment like a wild axe-wielding man. Aww… Im sorry Fluffy, did the little puppy scare you?” the tease went known, and the aggravation which would have been shown was hidden under the gradually calming down Dyn: Claws retracted, ears began to lower and tail curled around his thigh.

You have any sugar??” the question was finally thrown out there instead of the thundering voice booming the room. With slow actions Dyn moved off of the couch, getting onto his feet for the second time that day and made his way to the kitchen, a brimstone eye keeping a eye on her as one hand extended to the cupboard, paranoid movements almost as he watched the petite canine furry at the edge of his vision. It was odd… she had such a loud voice, almost like a man angered but then here she was, small and very bashful as she had her hand laced in front of her, hips swaying from side to side as she waited patiently for her Sugar she quested for.

Here you go ill. . .But just, before I give you this remind me why Im even allowing you in my apartment after how you just burst in here? With question finally out in the open he eyed her, holding the package of sugar in his hand but ready to pull away if she decided to do a snatch and run method- of course Dyn was prepared: Experience. Near a foot taller than the little canine he waited for a response, watching as she tip toed her way towards him and kept eye contact until she was an inch away from him. Awkward wasnt even the word that was running through his mind, perhaps that was a understatement. . . .

Before the male was able to pull away the feeling of small clawed hands similar to his own were wrapped around his still fluffed tail, unwrapping it from his thigh and petting it with a tender, gentle touch. From paranoid to awkward, and now awkward to completely helpless. Ummm… cause I know your weak spot, and Im cuteWith hand quickly dropping from near out of reach his expression did the same- if his weak spot hadnt been bothered he wouldnt have given her the sugar, just to punish her and a come back to her single word he would have turned around and named several negative ones, annoying being among the list.

The soft purring sound rattled his in his chest and at the back of his throat unwillingly and lids shut for enough time for the sugar to be gone and the door to shut with a small ‘click’. Still though after she had left his tail remained in the spot where it was once held, the purring remaining though eyes had opened to see the nothingness in front of him- ill had vanished. Once again he was used, tossed away in a manner of speaking.

That… ” Holding back the curse words he swatted his tail down where it quickly fell behind him, no wince being made even though he could have- his tail was sensitive as ill had found out one day in her little experimenting in knowing Dyn better: question after question and poking and prodding at him: chest, back, arms, legs, ears, and then she had to touch the tail. . .

Retreating back to the couch with another flop he opened the laptop to the screen it had been on, video paused which was closed in seconds before another window was opened, a chat quickly starting up and music filled the room to sooth the slight ping he felt- loneliness maybe? Unknowing to the true feeling he ignored his curiosity to explore his feelings, his thoughts he constantly pushed away and locked himself in a bubble of music, ignoring all around him even the chat windows that popped up. One after another, even when the screen was full he ignored them and looked out to the window once again.

It hasnt stopped raining since that nightmare began . . . I justEven with the distraction of music he wasnt able to deny himself the thoughts about the rain. Eyebrows lowered slightly into a disheartening look, eyes hardened and action took over as he stood up with force to knock over the table accidentally causing the laptop to fall- there was no care. Without picking it up or even checking on his belongings he fled his room, his apartment he had barricaded himself in and ventured through the apartment to the front door where his feet stopped at the front door.

Rain rain. . . Even with no lyrical tune held in his voice he couldnt resist but to smile ever so slightly as he pushed open the door and entered the embrace of the rain as it hit his fur, brushing into it like a comb and quickly soaking him within seconds of his standing in the rain, soon walking.

With no friend at his side, no girl to giggle at his jokes he walked with his head tilted up and his smile slowly growing. No happiness was on such lift of his lips, a bitter sadness lingered as he stopped and looked up to the sky.

Just… One of those days…….” he thought out loud to himself, head slowly tilting back down to look at the streets were humans roamed, awing at his appearance.

Note to the reader: My first piece, it's quick and not very well thought out but I figured I'd have my first words up here and look back on it in the past and shake my head at how bad it is xD

Anyway, hope you all enjoy this short little thing.
