Summary

A sudden thought that came to me early morning...Losing my Mom did not mean the end of the world. I'll be happy, even without you, That's a Daughter's Promise.

Everytime I smile,

Everytime that I sigh,

I think of your face,

And a tear escape my eye.

You were my world,

My inspiration and my heart,

But when you left me,

I fell apart.

You were to me,

My best friend, my true companion

Standing by my side,

You were to me, my mama.

I didn't want to live without you

But you would never want that.

If there's anyone i would want to please

That anyone is you.

I would have given anything to have you back,

But I do realize that thus, it was meant to be

For you are still watching over me,

I know your hand still supports mine.

I'll make you proud mama,

I'll fulfill your wish,

You're going to see me smile and shine,

That's a Daughter's Promise.

You can hardly imagine how I live each single day without you. It's been ages since you are gone, but I still wait that you surprise me eating sweets in my room, I still want you to hug me unexpectedly when I shined in school, I still want you to scold me when i am wrong,I still want you to favour me over my brother, just to keep our 'Woman Power' moving in the house. I still want you to recount me some of the experiences of your teenage life. I still want you to compare me with other girls of my age. I still want you Mama!

But I know, I'm realistic enough to realize that my 'wanting' you to be here will not make things perfect. I'll still yearn for your cold hands to squeeze my arm. I'll still want you to do my hair. I'll still want you to be here for me. Maybe I should just move on and on...but without you mama, every step is heavy to undertake. When I see others with their mom, I get jealous! That's the way it is! But I'll move on mama, despite my pain, my creeping loneliness. That's a promise I make to you! Wherever you are, I know you'll be here to guide me. I promise I'll be strong. If I do break down, I'm thankful to God, and to you, that I can pen down my feelings. I love you Mama!

I'll be happy! You'll always see me smile.

That's a daughter's promise.
