Ode To Samson


The birds twitter

Silently as I wake

Up in the morning.

Then I hear Sam

Bark out loud to

Make us come

Out to play.

His craziness spreads

And my siblings and

I can't resist.

We slip on some

Clothes and race

Outside to see

The cute puppy face.

He bounds towards

Us as we speak to

Him in high-pitched


His tail wags

Vigorously as though

It has disappeared.

He jumps up high

And licks our

Faces clean.

We laugh out loud

As he starts his

Puppy crazy.

 He races around

The entire yard

As we play

Hard to get.

He shows off a

Little by grabbing

A toy or stick.

Then he wags his

Tail and pauses

Into a stance

To start a race.

As we come closer

He shifts and runs

Away with that toy

Sticking out of his


He gets tired

A little while

Later and rolls

Over so we can

Pet his tummy.

He pants a lot

And rolls over

To lick our faces.

He seems to be

Laughing with
