A cry heard at midnight. Everyone hears it but no one chooses to act. Everyone ignores it. Everyone decides it will be ok. No one goes to help. Everyone has heard enough of the crying. Everyone has heard enough of the screams. They want it to stop. But no one goes to do it. They only let the screaming continue. Night after night screaming over and over again. Then finally one night it stops. Everyone is confused. But happy. No more screams, no more cries, a night of peace. But they realize what the cost was. Life was the cost of the screams. In order for it to finally stop someone had to die. A man was sacrificed for the good of the people. And it wasn't until the end did they regret it all. Not until the man had finally had enough did he finally sacrifice himself. Everyone left him. And now this was the result. Everyone is full of grief and regret. Only because they did not go to help the one who cried at midnight.
