An excerpt:

"I needed everyone to believe I died. It was the only way. I'm sorry I hurt you, and I'm sorry for being selfish," she said regretfully.

"So, you left me believe you were dead?" He asked angrily. Almost shouting.

"It doesn't matter anymore now, does it? Obviously I'm not dead, and you already found me..." She said, her heart breaking into pieces, but making her voice cold, "I know it's not easy for you to forgive me, and I'm not asking for forgiveness. I didn't mean to hurt you, even though I obviously did."

"......"

"......."

He looked at her, his face filled with love and hate. She stared back, shielding away any emotion she had. They stood like that, facing each other as if they were the only ones that existed in the world. Just as he was about to say something, faint footsteps were coming towards them. She broke the eye contact and listened to the footsteps. Glancing back and forth from Asher to the door, her choice was made. She moved quickly to Asher's side and took his hand.

"What are you doing?" Asher asked, confused.

"I'm sorry....." With that, she pressed her finger and thumb to the sides of his neck and pressured it, knocking him out cold. She took her necklace off and put it inside his palm, closing it tightly.

" I love you," she said, touching his cheek softly. She then turned around and jumped over the balcony, leaving him and everything behind.
