I wish I had the answers
To all of life's sweet riddles
I wish I had a weapon
To see through phoney giggles

- • -

I wish I had a pet leech
To suck up all my crimes
To swallow, strangle, taste them
With sinful, epic spite

- • -

I wish to talk to angels
And ask them why they're white
Ask them why those rain clouds
Won't leave my bed at night

 - • -

I wish my dreams of horrors
Would drown the evil bugs
That slime through human tissue
And destroy the ones I love

 - • -

Oh wishing tree, oh wishing tree
Put your vines to work
Those leaves of emerald
Coat of scales
Could rid me of my hurt
I wish, I wish to get a clue
A purpose, answer, book of true
Please grant my wishes
Unravel my thistles
So I can start anew

 - • -

I wish to be a plain Jane
With flowers in my hair
And freckles on my nose and cheeks
And a gentle, honest air

 - • -

I wish, I wish to be inside
A sunset silhouette
With gleaming pearls
And cosmic swirls
And a stallion I don't forget

 - • -

I wish I was a novel
And my story plain to see
Ironed pages of white
Smudged charcoal, alright
But a cover of blissful glee

 - • -

I wish my words were tear drops
From a unicorn's weeping soul
That could heal a broken cherub
Even gobble up evil whole

 - • -

Oh wishing tree, oh wishing tree
Put your vines to work
Those leaves of emerald
Coat of scales
Could rid me of my hurt
I wish, I wish to get a clue
A purpose, answer, book of true
Please grant my wishes
Unravel my thistles
So I can start anew

 - • -

Sweet child, sweet child
You need not fear
Allow me to retort
For wishes are for dreamers
Instead you will be taught

 - • -

Mistakes are here to shape us
Into who we're meant to be
Regrets are for those cowards
Who think that they are free

 - • -

Learn from all that you do
And from all that is done to you
For then you'll see
With a fierce clarity
What will be, will simply be
