Why is there all of this criminal activity,

In this violent world around me?

With the kidnappings and murders,

When I hear of these I get the shudders.

Most of these remain unsolved,

Very few are ever resolved.

Many of the criminals are never caught

This leaves people severely distraught.

Many don't even face a judge,

This can cause people to hold a grudge,

Against the crime offender,

They vow to, at all costs,  become the winner.

This only causes more crime,

Even more occur through time.

It seems like no one cares anymore,

And the death tolls rise more and more.

The crimes vary from date rape to homicide,

I can't tell you how many people have cried,

For lost sons and daughters.

Every day kidnappings and slaughters,

Are on the rise.

Every hour it seems like someone dies.

What do we have to do to stop the crime?

All we have to do is wipe out the criminal slime.

This doesn't seem possible, though.

All we can do is lay low,

And try to stay out of crime's way.

We risk death every day.

I just cannot see,

Why we have all of this criminal activity.
