The mirror stood alone at the corner

Fractured with conspicuous cracks

I stared closely at it

Hundreds of faces were reflected

Yet I feel

something hollow is at the core

I saw the cheerful countenance

that I give towards people

I feel nothing but despise

I saw the innocent face

that I portray all day long

when my innocence has been diminished completely

I saw the truthful expression

that people see from me every day

what they don't know

is that my life is built on lies

I spent countless nights weeping

not knowing what to feel

not knowing where to go

not knowing who I am

Lost, am I

Giving up, seems so enticing

A loud crash was heard

The mirror broke into pieces

I stare at the empty core

stood on the shattered glass

wondering,

when will this broken mirror be me.
