As my alarm rang, I rolled over in my bed. I don't want to go... I thought to myself. Today, October 2nd, I was going to the hospital. The doctors said there was something wrong with me, some sort of chronic disease slowly building up inside me. 'I feel fine.' I told them, but they told me I wasn't and that I might need some surgery.

'It's causing a tumor, and we need to surgically rid your body of it. Don't you want to be cured?' They asked me. Of course I want to be cured, but there's always an alternative decision right? I sat up, finally turning off the beeping alarm clock that sat upon my nightstand. My feet hit the cold floor as I stood to go open the blinds. I opened them and stared up at the sun shining through the window. Such a beautiful day, but an ugly thing will happen to me. I sighed and proceeded to my closet to pick out some clothes. Not that it mattered, but I can't go to the hospital in my tank top and shorts, also known as my pajamas. Once done changing, I prepared myself for the day. I walked down the stairs of my two story house and into the kitchen. My mom was standing at the stove making breakfast.

"How're you feeling?" She asked me. Ever since finding out I have a "fatal disease", she's been worried about my health and what I can and can't eat.

"Like I said, I'm perfectly fine. I bet there isn't even anything wrong with me..." I mumbled. She shook her head.

"Something is wrong, Sam. You're not well. The doctors wouldn't lie, would they?" Mom asked me. I shrugged as I picked at a tangerine.

"They lied about Grandpa. They said he'd live for another month, and he died in two weeks. Mom, I'm fine I swear!" I exclaimed. Mom set a plate of eggs, bacon, and toast in front of me, along with a glass of water.

After breakfast, we drove to the hospital. We entered the large white building and waited in the waiting room. "Sam Juniorman?" A nurse with sleek black hair pulled back into a bun called me. My mom got up to go with me, but I held a hand up.

"I think I've got this." I said, went with the nurse. The walls behind the French doors were adorned with posters of the human body and how all the organs came together to work as one.

"So, you've got a surgery today, huh?" The nurse said. I nodded.

"Yea, I mean, there isn't really anything wrong with me, but I guess the doctors are right." I replied, sticking my hands in my pockets.

"Yes, they are right," The nurse said. She led me to a hospital room with a bed and small TV in the left hand corner of room. "So, this is your room for in between surgeries. You'll be staying here and you can request anything you want. Anyone can come visit you anytime except for after work hours here. You'll be fine here, ok?"

"Ok." Was all I said.

"By the way, I'm Nurse Jackelynn, but everyone here calls me Jackie."

"Nice to meet you."

Nurse Jackie gave me a hospital gown to wear and told me to sit in the bed for a while. I changed into that, leaving on my underwear so my butt wasn't showing. I sat down on the hospital bed and looked around for a remote to the TV. I found it sitting next to the room phone on the nightstand beside the bed. I flipped on the TV, looking for anything to watch. As I finally settled back and relaxed, my room door burst open.

"Sam Juniorman, the doctors will see you now." Said a man in green scrubs.
