A A A

Can't speak.

Lips sewn shut,

tongue nailed in place,

quivering.

Eyes closed,

open mind theater,

stage set with

players of the damned.

Harlequin clowns cavort amidst

rotting skeletal orgies.

Soft voices murmur in the dark,

dead eyes peering from

the shadows.

Broken glass in an unmade bed;

sheets stained,

an abstract design of life and death.

Cobwebs breathe gently from

dirty corners.

They seem to know more than

they let on.

Angels shed their skins

and smile timidly.

A sly wink,

and the shadows tremble in

eager anticipation.

A smile fades to black.
