I’m So Over Ned Flanders

Gather my children and you shall hear,

Of the midnight ride of Paul Revere.

Just kidding!

But anyway…

Lest ye let your minds a wander,

On what could have caused mine to ponder,

Such a sad statement as thus follows,

I am so over Ned Flanders.

Rest ye merry gentlemen,

A tale I’ve to tell,

Of a love as pure as fallen snow,

That thawed and went to hell,

I was young and foolish,

My head in the clouds,

A heart of fragile glass,

My love, Ned Flanders,

Of the television,

A love not meant to last.

A romance would bloom,

A heartache would loom,

My heart of glass would shatter.

The woman’s name was Edna Krabappel,

She who caused my tower to topple,

My steeple of passion crashed to the ground,

The pieces to pick up,

Could not be found.

It was over.

Ned had found another dear,

And let me tell you,

She is not here.

Now the statement below is not utterly true,

I am so over Ned Flanders,

For if you look in my heart,

 You will find,

A tattoo of my darling Ned Flanders,

It cannot be removed,

It won’t heal like a bruise,

He is a part of me I cannot deny.

So as you can see,

There is no need for me,

To repeat that lie again,

But I shall once more,

Though I may implore,

I am so over Ned Flanders.

It is not true,

Those words I rue,

But I shall not deny them either,

I will never move on,

Though I sing the song,

Everybody Hates Ned Flanders.

So as I slowly pick up the pieces,

Of my melancholy heart,

I know what is coming,

As I watch Ned and I drift apart,

Goodbye my Ned, my darling,

Twas never meant to be,

For I was meant for you,

But you, not meant for me.
