So swiftly the years have passed us by
An exhaling breath of a lovers sigh
Moments in time that are gone but not lost
Locked away in my brain behind the winters frost
Like a day ago I remember that fateful day
Your glorious image with a smile on display
You made me question so many things
And lifted my heart to where the angels sing
You made me believe in divine plans
And helped me rise to be a better man
Each day I’m in wonder that you are still here
The image of you gone is my greatest fear
I long to hold you tight in my arms
To keep you there and protect you from harm
To have you wrapped in my loving embrace
To hold forever in times endless pace
Plans for my life were lofty and grand
Illuminating the thoughts of this foolish young man
Our journey has parted from where we began
It barley reflects what we had planned
The cruel mistress time, she reared and she roared
She carved up our plans with her mighty sword
I thought we would have twenty years of health
To work and to love and to accumulate wealth
But time is that witch no man commands
It wraps us up in its steely bands

Very sweet love poem with a bitter end but you ease into it nicely so it's not just like BAM! It's a nice balance and i enjoyed the read.
