It holds you
Restrains you
Controls you
Becomes you
Your mind goes numb, memories fading-Fading away.
Your life is slipping, like a string you can’t quite grasp.
You skulk around-A former vision of yourself, hiding from the truth.
Lost in your lies
The momentary pleasure
It cannot hide the internal damage
You’re a mere puppet and it is your master
Tied up in strings, dancing in the palm of its hand.
It holds you
Restrains you
Controls you
Becomes you.
Can you feel yourself slipping away?
You’re a mere shell of your former self
But, the momentary satisfaction makes up for it all.
Was it worth it?
All of those lost memories-Your sanity, your loved ones?
All only fairytales now
All only a haunting remembrance
