A loved one's betrayal.

It was the moment that words were finally not enough,

Cowering naked, stripped of all meaning.

Tired lips set to rest.

Whirring mind ceased its neurotic rotations, finding respite only in the stark realisation of deep-seated fears.

Ranting, bargaining, pleading fell short.

And then there was nothing.

N-O-T-H-I-N-G

It plagues me still how everything is in a moment nothing. And how nothing masquerades as everything.

That I was too young to distinguish between the two.

I never saw which ‘thing’ you were.
