“Wayne! Wake up or else you will be late for work! Wayne!!” his mom shouted to him from downstairs.

“Coming right up, mom! I’m already awake!,” Wayne said as he ran down the stairs.

“Don’t forget your raincoat and umbrella!” his mom reminded him.

“Got it, mom! Okay, I’m heading to work now! See you later tonight! I love you mom. Take care of yourself.” Wayne said as he left the front door.

It was just two days before Christmas and it was raining cats and dogs out there. Well, in Singapore it is always raining during the month of December due to the monsoon season.

The cold wind blew, and Wayne Lim continued his walk to the bus stop, clenching on his umbrella tightly. He looked up at the grey skies and thought, “Hopefully today will be a good day, unlike these clouds.” Just as he arrived at the bus stop, his mobile phone rang.

“Ahh.. Who could it be this early in the morning?” he wondered as he took out his phone from his pocket.

He smiled as he saw the caller’s name on his phone. It was his girlfriend, Sheryl. He picked the call up and he began chatting with her while waiting for the bus. Christmas was in a week and he had planned something special to surprise Sheryl. He was going to propose to her on Christmas.  Ever since two weeks ago, he had started to plan for Christmas.
