I slid open the screen porch and walked out of my house and sat down on the cement path. It was around 12:30 in the morning. I had a lot on my mind as today had been a tough day. I turned on my Bluetooth headphones and listened to some Nirvana.

As I stated at the backyard the lights were on and I could see our screen porch and fire pit in the distance. I signed I laid down on the ground and fell asleep.

I woke up several hours later to a phone ringing. My grandma had called me in tears asking if the news was true? I took several deep breaths and told her “Yes” I hung up and decided to go on a short walk along the neighborhood. I came back and turned the tv on in my family room and watched some late night sit-comes.

I fell asleep on the couch. The next morning I woke up to the door bell to find my parents came over. They both hugged me and I could

Tell they were upset. They had every reason to be. I spent the entire day with them at the zoo and got lunch and dinner and walked around with them at a park.

Saying goodbye was really hard that night. The reason it was hard is I was recently diagnosed with cancer and couldn’t afford the treatment. The doctors told me any day  could be my last.
