With my breath being taken by the girl of my dreams
My heart drowns the sound of the thoughts within me
Ellie's white hands have never touched coal
She has gently made tracks to the depths of my soul
Combining fear and love together in a powerful blur
Now we welcome the wrath of our cruel saboteur.

Ellie and I ran with no aim in mind
Just moving forever, no concept of time
She held my hand tight as the air brushed her face
I wanted no more than her lustrous embrace
As our heart beats moved like the hummingbird's wing
My mind wondered off to the summers and springs
The sights, sounds and smells we'll never experience
My fears of our exile, and the next three years spent
Shifting our feet in pursuit of the sky
The clouds growing nearer to Ellie and I
What hurts the most isn't simply the fear
It's the unknown truth to why we are here
What did I do that deserved such distain?
My heart's filled with rage as I observe all the pain
That fills Ellie's eyes when she thinks I can't see
My fist clenches tighter and shakes with fury
Young lover's passion fades faster with time
But most people's love is not haunted like mine
My passion grows stronger with each day spent running
Whoever you are, your regret is soon coming.
