Honest and low-profiled, Laozhang?who likes doing things quietly. But one day, he seemed changed into another man. He began to wear long hair. Some of my colleagues asked him the reason, but he only smiled without saying any word.

The things in the world are subtle. The less he said, the more we wonder to know. So we all wanted to know why he wore long hair cause he really looked like a lady from his back.

One day, there’s no other person in the office, so I asked him why he wears long hair. He smiled, “I couldn’t say anything until the final result is in.” Yes, he had his own reason and had right to refuse to answer. So from that time, we stopped asking him the reason and gradually forgot it.

Before the Spring Festival, Laozhang went to see his mother who lives in a small village. But after the festival, he came back with a bald head, his long hair was gone. We were all puzzled and sighed, “How can people change so fast, even if Laozhang, the honest man in our office, starts to pretend cool.” But, Laozhang, in the face of these words, still only smiled without saying anything.

I saw Laozhang pushing a wheelchair-bound an old woman and walking out on a Friday evening, when I was taking a walk. The old woman looked as fresh as paint though she was in the wheelchair. So I asked him who she was. And he told me that she’s his mother.

After chatting with his mother, I walked away. And when I came back Laozhang called me.

He said: “I finally solved the problem. My hair was useful indeed.”

He told me that his mother was suffering from stomach cancer, and lost all her hair cause the chemotherapy. So she didn’t agree to come to the city and live with her son.

Laozhang said to her: “I’ll buy a wig for you, it looks like real.” The old woman is a very honest person. She hates the word “fake”, so she didn’t agree his proposition either. After hearing that, Laozhang was so sad and sat up all night, but finally he devised a good idea.

So after several months, before the Spring Festival, Laozhang went to see her with a stranger. He asked his mother: “Mom, what do you think of my hair, is it real?”

She laughed, “I’m not too old to see that your hair is real.”

Laozhang said: “Well, mom, please don’t move.” then he brought a chair and let that stranger to shave off his hair.

His mother looked at her son and said: “Son, you don’t need to do that, I won’t leave even if you shaved off your hair and look like me now.”

Laozhang said: “Mom, you see.”

The old woman saw the stranger was sitting in a chair and doing something with the hair, but she didn’t see clearly cause her bad eyes.

After a long time, the stranger said: “Done, have a try.” Then the old woman saw clearly, there was a “wig” in his hand.

Laozhang held the wig and said: “Mom, I knew you hate false things, so I gave you my real hair, you see, it’s real, mom, have a try, please, I beg you.”

“Well…I wear…”The tearful old woman said, her voice choked with sobs.

Finally, the old woman moved to the city. All the people, who saw her, always said, “Look at her black hair, she looks so vigorous.”

Every time she heard those words, the old woman always laughed happily and combed her long black hair with her hand.
