I wove a masterpiece with
Tiny, newborn hands
When I hugged the ground,
My masterpiece was young
When I skimmed the walls,
My masterpiece grew larger
Golden threads of delight
And silver stitches of joy
Every rise and fall saw new
Horizons in the east, and new
Horizons on my masterpiece
But my hands have left the wall
Free. To fall, or fly. And as I reached
For the sky, I slipped
As my hands went out to soften the fall
I dropped my masterpiece
I watched with horror as it came undone.
The silver embellish turned dull
The gold dimmed to grey
Delight was turned to dust
The Joy began to fray.
The remains of my masterpiece, laying
At my feet
For my masterpiece came undone

As my life too, came undone.
