Silence

Silence they say, is golden

It soothes the soul

Allows thoughts to meander

Silence to me is loud

A darkening storm

It rumbles in the background

Whispers on the wind

Become the pain hiding within

In the quietness I hear my heart

The seams slowly tearing a part

Within the confines of emptiness

Sounds resonate

Fluttering leaves on the forest floor vibrate

Send out memories like waves

Crashing into all that remains

Silence

Stolen

All that was golden
