There's a big bright smile on my face. And my eyes shine like pearls.
The tall, green grass reaches up to my waist, of course I'm only four, so it's not that tall.
I skip and run, all through the grass, until I reach a tall, mighty oak tree. It's huge limb towers over me. A wooden swing held by ropes falls down to just the height where I can reach it.
Quick as I can, I hop onto the swing. Spreading my arms out as wide as I could reach. I feel the air slipping through my fingers. I brush the grass with my fingertips.
The sun stands it's ground above me, heating the Earth.
"Wyatt," my mom calls to me from the meadow. Birds chirp.
"What," I call.
I run to her. Run into her arms and hug her. She squeezes me tightly and ruffles my hair.
--Then I wake up. I touch the bruise on my face, feel the ache of my body, and remember my longing for food, water, and love.
Iwish this world to end, so that Imay live in my own secret world...forever.
