What do soldiers feel like? How does it feel to be away from home?

The sound of mandelin echoing through the night

Comforting. Relaxing. Soothing.

It's melody flowing within me

each strum pulling me into a deep sleep

What is this i see?

Toys scattered on the front yard

a Woman on the front door as if standing guard

a Boy and a Girl crept up her side

surprised they rushed up to me with arms open wide

They pulled me in this place they call home

a whiff of Macaroons caught my nose

Peace. Love. Quiet.

all this felt so close.

the echoing gunshots filled the light of the moonbeam

i awakened to the sight of the moon covered in ashes of gray

from grenades that went off while i was away.

I find myself walking on a red-colored stream

in darkness i find myself searching,

for that once Soothing melody has faded away.

Welcoming me back to Reality.

Striving to survive this predicament

how will i get back?

will i ever go back?

For i am Beginning to Forget what Macaroons smell like.
