In fourteen ninety two Columbus sailed the ocean blue,

Okay, that's right, but how much else is true?

Who was it who found this land, fair and square?

If not, of course, the natives living there?

If not the vikings in nine eighty A.D.,

Or the Chinese at the beginning of his century?

It was not Columbus who first saw it, no,

But poor cheated sailor Rodrigo.

Columbus thought only of himself,

Wanting fame, glory, wealth,

He murdered the natives and lied to the king,

As he destroyed their land, pillaging.

On top of the killing, his ships carried disease,

A new devastation on this side of the seas.

Enslaved, they sickened and died, shipped off to be sold.

All this for 'the Glory of God' and a greed for gold.
